Catherine Quantin dirige le service de Biostatistiques et Information Médicale du CHU de Dijon depuis 1998, et est membre de l'équipe Biostatistique en grande dimension | cesp (inserm.fr)
Le service qu’elle dirige est spécialisé dans le codage, la validation et le développement méthodologique nécessaire à l'analyse statistique des données des bases nationales médico-administratives (PMSI, SNDS). Son équipe a été l'une des premières à faire des travaux de recherche à partir des données PMSI et à obtenir l’accès aux données SNDS pour une recherche en pharmaco-épidémiologie.
Elle collabore avec des équipes internationales comme avec le Pr Victor Rodwin (Professeur de politique et gestion de la santé, New York University) et l’Institut de médecine sociale et préventive, UNIL, Lausanne, sur la comparaison internationale des indicateurs de santé. Elle collabore également avec le Pr Abrahamowicz (Professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics) de Mc Gill Montreal (Canada) et participe au réseau international d’experts en biostatistique et épidémiologie de l’Initiative STRATOS (STRengthening Analytical Thinking for Observational Studies).
Catherine Quantin a également développé de nouvelles méthodes de pseudonymisation et de chainage, dont l'une a été brevetée, le logiciel ANONYMAT, et a été approuvée par la CNIL. Cette méthodologie a été largement utilisée aux niveaux régional, national et international. Au niveau national, outre son utilisation pour le chainage des données PMSI/SNDS, elle a été utilisée pour le suivi des maladies à déclaration obligatoire par Santé Publique France, des élèves et des étudiants par l'Education nationale, ainsi que celui de l’enfance en danger.
En effet, Catherine Quantin travaille depuis plus de 20 ans sur la thématique de la maltraitance à enfants et a notamment été sollicitée par l’Observatoire National de la Protection de l’Enfance (ONPE) pour organiser la transmission d’informations aux observatoires départementaux de la protection de l’enfance et à l’ONPE permettant ainsi la mise en œuvre du dispositif OLINPE pour l’observation longitudinale individuelle et nationale (décret n°2011-222 du 28 février 2011).
Elle a bénéficié du soutien de l’ONPE pour le développement d’un algorithme de repérage de la maltraitance physique à enfants dans les données PMSI/SNDS en vue de l’analyse de ces données, ainsi que de Santé Publique France et du HDH pour la validation de cet algorithme.
Catherine Quantin est également responsable du WG2 sur l’analyse des données médico-administratives et sociales dans le cadre de la COST Action 19106 "Multi sectoral responses to child abuse and neglect in Europe : Incidence and trends".
Elle a été présidente du Collège des enseignants de biostatistique et d'informatique médicale (CIMES), secrétaire générale de l'Association des épidémiologistes de langue française (ADELF) et présidente du comité d'éducation de la Société internationale de biostatistique clinique (ISCB), elle est membre de l’AIM.
En tant que présidente du comité scientifique ou d'organisation, elle a organisé plus d’une trentaine de conférences nationales ou internationales (ISCB, ADELF, EMOIS) ou colloques (IMIA, SFDS).
Elle est l'auteur principal de 597 publications internationales, dans de nombreux domaines de la Santé Publique (biostatistique, informatique, épidémiologie, économie de la santé) tout en favorisant les applications cliniques (312 dans Pubmed).

Catherine Quantin has headed the Biostatistics and Medical Information Department at Dijon University Hospital since 1998, and is a member of the High-Dimensional Biostatistics | cesp (inserm.fr)
The department specialises in the coding, validation and methodological development required for the statistical analysis of data from national medico-administrative databases (PMSI, SNDS). Her team was one of the first to conduct research using PMSI data and to obtain access to SNDS data for pharmaco-epidemiological research.
She collaborates with international teams such as Professor Victor Rodwin (Professor of Health Policy and Management, New York University) and the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine, UNIL, Lausanne, on international comparisons of health indicators. She also works with Professor Abrahamowicz (Professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics) at Mc Gill Montreal (Canada), and is a member of the STRATOS (STRengthening Analytical Thinking for Observational Studies) Initiative, an international network of experts in biostatistics and epidemiology.
Catherine Quantin has also developed new pseudonymisation and linkage methods, one of which, the ANONYMAT software, has been patented and approved by the French commission for data protection. This methodology has been widely used at regional, national and international levels. At national level, as well as being used to link PMSI/SNDS data, it has been used for the surveillance of notifiable diseases by the French agency of public health, pupils and students by the French Ministry of Education, and maltreated children by the National observatory for child protection (ONPE).
Catherine Quantin has been working on the issue of child abuse for more than 20 years, and was asked by the ONPE to organise the transmission of information to the departmental child protection observatories and the ONPE, thereby enabling the implementation of the OLINPE system for national longitudinal observation (decree of February 2011).
She has received support from the ONPE for the development of an algorithm for identifying physical child abuse in PMSI/SNDS data with a view to analysing these data, and from the French agency of public health and the Health Data Hub for the validation of this algorithm.
Catherine Quantin is also responsible for WG2 on the analysis of medico-administrative and social data as part of COST Action 19106 "Multi sectoral responses to child abuse and neglect in Europe: Incidence and trends".
She has been President of the Collège des enseignants de biostatistique et d'informatique médicale (CIMES), Secretary General of the Association des épidémiologistes de langue française (ADELF) and President of the Education Committee of the International Society of Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB), and is a member of the AIM.
As chair of the scientific or organising committee, she has organised more than thirty national or international conferences (ISCB, ADELF, EMOIS) or symposia (IMIA, SFDS).
She is the principal author of 597 international publications in many areas of public health (biostatistics, informatics, epidemiology, health economics), with an emphasis on clinical applications (312 in Pubmed).
